📢 July Product Update: Elevate Your Payroll Platform!
Welcome to our July product update! We're excited to share the latest enhancements designed to make payroll management more efficient and streamlined. Discover how Salsa continues to empower developers and companies with cutting-edge payroll solutions.
Employer Reminders to Collect Missing SSNs/SINs. We’ve enhanced our embedded components to ensure employers never miss critical worker data, whether in the U.S. or Canada. The Employer Dashboard now includes a proactive set-up task for collecting missing Social Security Numbers (SSNs) for U.S. employees and Social Insurance Numbers (SINs) for Canadian employees, with real-time warnings during payroll runs for workers with incomplete data.
This improvement reduces the operational load on customer success teams by preventing the need to reach out for missing information. For those using our embedded components, this feature is available immediately with no additional changes required. If you're building your own payroll-run UI, the feature is integrated as a warning in the payroll-run alerts field.
Revamped New Pay Type Experience. We've revamped the experience for managing pay types, providing more flexibility to manage pay types and pay policies. The new feature supports custom types and associated policies, allowing employers to set amounts at the worker level or create policies that group default values for various worker groups under a single pay type. This update caters to the sophisticated needs of larger employers while maintaining simplicity for small businesses.
Company Risk Metrics API. We're thrilled to introduce our new Company Risk Metrics API. This API allows you to send details about key aspects of the company being onboarded. This information is crucial as it feeds into our credit risk and fraud engine to evaluate the company’s risk rating and monitor transactions. The API is flexible, allowing you to send as much data as you have available, making the onboarding process seamless and secure.
New Local Taxes in Ohio. Starting July 1st, new local taxes for several Ohio cities are becoming effective: Blanchester City Tax, Holmesville City Tax, Glenmont City Tax, and College Corner City Tax. No action is required on your part; we will automatically apply these taxes to the relevant workers. We have retrofitted all payroll elements (pay types, deductions, benefits) to ensure the correct taxation is applied.
Vermont Child Care Contribution. Starting July 1st, Vermont's new Child Care Contribution (CCC) becomes effective. We will automatically apply this contribution to the relevant workers. A few new parameters will be requested in workers' tax setup. All payroll elements have been updated to comply with this new requirement.
We’re excited to see our partners benefit from these updates with no effort required. This seamless experience is why we created Salsa!
