We are pleased to announce that we have updated Salsa with several new features that we are excited to share with you!
You'll notice this update will also be posted on our website, we believe putting these updates in our blog will make it easier for you to find them over time. Our hope is that these updates will help keep you up to date with all the tools that are available in Salsa so you'll have an easier job building a more delightful payroll product. We hope you enjoy the new updates and, as always, we're here to help! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or feedback.
Here is a list of the new features:
Override pay method in the payroll run flow. Employers can now change the worker payment method for a specific payroll run. This enables employers to pay by check when direct deposit transfers go beyond the pay date or when a worker hasn’t yet provided their bank details. This feature is available in our Payroll Run embeddable UI and through our Payroll Run API.
New experience to add compensations and deductions in the payroll run workflow. Our embedded Payroll Run UI allows employers to add deductions and compensations within the payroll run workflow. This feature is crucial to enable employers to process elements that are not captured in your platform. The list of compensations and deductions available is tailored for your customers; it matches the compensation structure of your platform.
Payroll Entity is now Pay Group. Our goal is to make payroll less complicated and using precise naming helps to deliver on that promise. The Pay Group API is the place to set up a group of workers that should be paid together in the same frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly). We have included new API operations to make the setup easier. Let us know if you’d like to leverage our embeddable UI.
Payroll Year End is approaching. We have communicated to customers about what to expect and the tasks they need to complete to have a smooth year-end. Salsa will handle all required tasks: we will generate and send all W-2 and 1099 forms, file them with the tax agencies, and send copies to the workers.
Happy Holidays!
